Technological Leadership and Economic Security: Help Shape the Future of AI
The development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) is a strategic priority for the United States, as it will play an increasing role in its technological leadership in the world and its economic security. The same is true for its international partners and allies. America’s AI Action Plan provides more than 90 steps to strengthen its leadership in AI. This will undoubtedly require investments in a robust infrastructure to enable the growth and deployment of AI, and will provide some critical challenges that must be addressed to meet the future needs of this technology. Some of the critical areas of need include advances in electronics and hardware, energy and water resources in data centers, thermal management, export control and policy, and the development of the necessary workforce.
The University of Maryland and AMD, with support from the National Academy of Engineering and the Canadian Academy of Engineering, are pleased to host a symposium to discuss the current needs and potential pathways to create the future of AI infrastructure.

Bringing together leaders from industry, government, and academia, the symposium will provide a timely forum for learning, peer interaction, and inspiration for future innovations that will support our leadership in AI.
